We have become successful in this regard and believe it's time to give back. Over the past few years, we have been very involved in the Starlight Children's Foundation. We have seen how our simple donations can light up a child's life, and we want to share this experience as everyone deserves that feeling. We will be making a charitable donation once every week to a charity that makes a difference. This is one of the proudest and most important moments for me and this company because it's our chance to give back to those who are in need. Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation - One Night Live
Starlight Children's Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a world of difference for seriously ill children and their families. Starlight softens the hard edges of what a family experiences when a child has a serious illness. We create a sense of community between families who are having similar experiences by providing opportunities for them to escape the hospital, doctors, nurses, needles and treatments and doing something fun where they get to join others and just feel "normal" again--perhaps even forgetting that anyone is sick for a short while.
What we did to help: FabulousSavings.ca donated two tickets to One Night Live and a day of pampering to two deserving parents from the Starlight Children’s Foundation. The couple enjoyed an amazing concert and a great night out in Toronto.

Becel Ride for Heart
The Heart & Stroke Foundation explores ways to protect the health of all Canadians through scientific excellence, education and impacting social change. Heart disease and stroke is responsible for 1 in 3 Canadian deaths every year. For over 21 years, the Becel Ride for Heart has taken over Toronto. To help support the research toward a cure, the Becel Ride for Heart lets anyone and everyone ride for themselves or others. In 2008, this event raised $3 million, and in 2009 hoping to surpass this amount for The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
What we did to help: FabulousSavings.ca sponsored one of our own as he participated in the 75km ride. Francis, who participated in the 50km ride last year, was excited to get involved in the Becel Ride for Heart again. This event has a great atmosphere, and you truly feel like you helped support this amazing cause. We as a company were ecstatic to sponsor him and are pleased to announce that he completed his ride in 2.5 hours. Congratulations, Francis!

Fort York Food Bank - Strike Out Hunger
As an agency of the Daily Bread Food Bank, Fort York Food Bank helps low-income individuals and families acquire the nourishment they need by providing three-day supplies of groceries that are consistent with the Canada Food Guide. The Food Program allows each client to fill their grocery basket according to their own taste, with help choosing items from the main food groups. In addition to the Food Program, Fort York Food Bank also provides Counselling & Advocacy Program, Community Vitality Program and Drop-In Centre.
What we did to help: On June 18, FabulousSavings.ca assembled three teams to compete in the 5th Annual FYFB Bowlathon. Each team was to raise at least $500 through collecting pledges from friends and family. The annual fundraising Bowlathon was more than just for fun; it allowed volunteers and members of the organizations to meet and greet each other. This was the third year that FabulousSavings.ca participated, and we hope to play again next year.
